Sad news. We had to put Jack to sleep this morning. He had breathing problems related to previous heartworm lung damage. He was on several meds and under constant care. Please know he had the absolute BEST of everything we could give him, and he gave us love 💕 beyond measure. He was my constant companion by day and slept by my side every night. I held him and cried my heart out this morning and am still in tears. I know it was the right decision but it is hard to be without him. He was SO much a part of who I am! He was definitely destined to be “my boy.” We could not let him suffer; labored breathing was so difficult to watch. Once we recover (I will forever miss him) and can breathe easier myself, I would like to adopt again. Just can’t imagine my life without a dachshund by my side. Please share this with his foster mom who was phenomenal with him. She took such good care of him and I admire her. Thanks for all the work you do to give dachshunds the best possible life!
